SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainable Materials

Simply, sustainability is part of our DNA.

We are committed to using only the most sustainable materials possible and knowing the origin of every ingredient. This is done through hand-forging metal in-house – a quality that cannot be replicated through casting or mass production. It’s been this way from the beginning.

From the land where our gold is uncovered to the rivers where sapphires and gemstones are fossicked, a rich story is built into every piece.

When you choose Wild to Ware, you are making a positive choice for the sustainable and small-batch jewellery movement.

  • The gold mining industry is a divisive topic in the jewellery industry, and rightly so with a track record of ravaged landscapes, contaminated water supplies and destruction of vital ecosystems. Why, then, do we use gold?

We only work with hand-sourced and recycled gold. We recycle all of our studio’s ‘scrap’ gold and excess for reuse and we source a portion of our materials, specifically native gold, ourselves in the Australian goldfields.

This means that the new gold we use across all of our pieces is 100% pure Australian gold collected straight from the source.

All Wild to Ware pieces are created using solid precious metals. We work primarily with 9, 14 and 18-carat yellow gold, rose gold and white gold. You will find material components under each product listing.

  • Working with this untreated natural gemstone is our specialty. We love sapphires for so many reasons, mostly because each is different to the next.

Sapphire deposits are often located in hard-to-reach and complex places to work in. We regularly travel across regional Victoria, Tasmania and NSW to uncover sapphires.

Ethically sourcing all our sapphires directly from the source allows us to provide accurate information on where our gemstones are from. We take pride in knowing that each stone we source and work with is 100% traceable.
